The Jewellery and Watches sections on board the Carnival ships occupy the most floor space.
As well as the core categories, there is plenty of space on the ships dedicated to Carnival’s own souvenirs.
As well as the stores on board, staff often set up tables in other parts of the ship.
There is no home delivery service offered – all purchases for everything except liquor are handed over immediately.
APAC
The Fashion & Accessories shop on the Costa neoRomantica was the biggest Duty Free shop on board which stocked categories such as sunglasses, bags, clothing and jewellery.
Promotions were designed to drive repeated visits in store.
Promotions were limited to lasting 1 day for example on day 1 there was an Armani event of up to 20% Armani Jeans, apparel and perfumes as well as 40% off selected sunglasses, on day 2 there was 50% off selected sunglasses, and a leather event which had up to 60% off selected leather products.
There were fashion shows which were organised on board to promote key sales events and also feature a range and categories which were being discounted.
Watches proved quite popular on Asian cruises due to the widespread sale of counterfeits across domestic markets.
All the shops on the Quantum of the Seas are centred around Deck 4 and the main shopping area which is called the Royal Esplanade. This deck has in effect created a boutique shopping area where there is a mixture of luxury and prestige brands.
